LENT 2024
ABSTINCENCE AND FAST DURING LENT
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting and abstinence. We are also encouraged to fast and abstain from meat on all Friday’s during Lent. According to the Ordo, the law of fasting ‘binds those who have completed their 18th year, until the beginning of their 60th year; the law of abstinence binds those who have completed their 14th year. As Catholics we partake in the "paschal fast" to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily his Resurrection.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Please join us for this very special Lenten devotion every Friday at 7:00pm.

Part of our Spiritual preperation for Easter is to be reconciled with God and one another. You will have a special opportunity to do so on Wednesday 20th March at 7:30pm. After a communal preperation, you will have the opportunity to confess your sins to one of the Priests present.
CHILDREN’S STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Our school children will be dramatizing the Stations of the Cross, on Friday 22nd March at 6:00pm. On this night we also hold our annual soup night. Please write your name down on the list in the Church foyer, if you are able to help us with providing a large pot of soup of any sort, as long as it has NO MEAT or if you are able to help on the night. PROJECT COMPASSION 2024
This year, Project Compassion brings you the stories of three resilient women from three different corners of the world. They are facing vastly different challenges, but are all united by one dream: to create a better tomorrow for all future generations.
Meet Ronita from the Philippines. Ronita is a mother of two young boys living in a slum in Quezon City. She went back to school to finish her education so that she could earn income to support her children. Throughout Project Compassion, you will get to know the stories of Ronita, Leaia and Memory. Journey with them as they forge a path to a brighter future for all generations.
Please donate to Project Compassion.
With your support, Caritas Australia has been able to support communities around the world to tackle poverty, food security, education, water and sanitation and disaster risk reduction.
Project Compassion 2024 reminds us that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. Together, we can help vulnerable communities face their challenges today and build a better tomorrow for all future generations.
You can donate through Project Compassion donation boxes and envelopes available from your parish, by visiting caritas.org.au/project-compassion or by calling 1800 024 413.
